TEETH: TEETH

TOMER AND ASAF HANUKA: Two bros who put out some really solid illustration work. Poor Asaf tends to end up in his brother's shadow, but his comic project The Realist [link] has made me love his work a lot more.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS: the plant the camp the jokes ORIN SCRIVELLO the music oh my goodness. One of my favorite stories, forever.

TREMORS: My favorite three-films-(we-don't-talk-about-4)-and-a-short-lived-tv-series. I think everyone should have a sense of humor about getting chased across the desert by giant sand worms and their heat-seeking offspring. Also, Burt Gummer. [link]

MYTHADVENTURES: This is what I made fancharacters for when all the other kids were writing self-insertion Harry Potter fanfiction.

FURRY WEBCOMICS: More of a formative years thing. As a kid I accidentally entered the furry subculture and have been reading Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures since out of morbid curiosity and an affection for pretty colors. I seem to have come out of it relatively unscathed-- I mean, I've been drawing better than Amber Panyko for years now.

POKEMON: Taught me how to draw. And how to love.

OINGO BOINGO: Do you ever have one of those bands that just make you so glad that you and Danny Elfman and the rest of the human race is alive? I get really into music, but nothing's topped Boingo for me yet. I love their visual aesthetic, their personality, and most importantly, essentially their entire discography.
I read somewhere that the music "wasn't about close connections and deep feelings, but about escaping into mock-horrific fantasy and putting up a tough shell of irony and ghoulish humor to keep life's truly horrific realities at bay" and basically I think that's how I've intended to live since I was born.

CRYPTOZOOLOGY: Chupacabras and mothmen and... TINY ELEPHANTS.

MARINA GARDNER: ~okavango on DA, though she's been absent lately. Her work is a huge inspiration; I've learned so much about interesting proportions and appealing design just from admiring her drawings. Also she draws THE BEST lizards and dragons.

SERIAL KILLERS/BASTARDS: I was always really drawn to villains in books and movies. Evil is interesting!

RAFAEL GRAMPA: I recently picked up the one-shot Mesmo Delivery and every page was beauty. (And violence.) I think he's me if I had been born an incredibly talented Brazilian man.

SAM BOSMA: Dude just has a great style and he thinks like I feel an illustrator should. Also when he draws Pokemon I get too happy.

That's a pretty interesting group of Influences. Sadly you couldn't include all of them into a place.
Btw, random question, where is this picture of Pokémons from?
